Easy to assemble and to paint.Specially designed around a rotary GAU-8/A 30 mm cannon as a CAS (Close Air Support) mission aircraft, the A-10A has emerged as one of the aircraft best suited for barrage battle tactics thanks to its outstanding low-altitude agility and manoeuvrability. The high level of danger of low altitude passes has led to several unique design characteristics being incorporated in the aircraft. The engines, for example are placed high and to the rear to protect them from small arms fire and heat seeking missiles. The control systems are in triplicate, the cockpit is encased in titanium armour and the tail surfaces are interchangeable. The THUNDERBOLT II is able to carry an impressive range of weapons weighing up to 7260 kg, on 11 external pylons: notably Rockeye cluster bombs and anti AFV Maverick missiles.
